The Raya Developmental Foundation for the Families of Martyrs and Wounded held its periodic event this Tuesday morning at the Neama Rassam School hall in central Taiz. The event witnessed a prominent attendance of the wounded from Taiz city, both civilians and resistance members. Several speeches were delivered during the event; Mr. Essam Al-Tamimi, Executive Director of the Raya Foundation, delivered a speech on behalf of the foundation’s management, explaining the foundation’s mechanism of action as a mediator between the state and philanthropists on one hand, and the wounded on the other. He also addressed the urgent need for immediate solutions regarding the issue of the wounded and the families of martyrs. The wounded Ishaq Al-Alwani gave an expressive speech touching upon the tragic conditions they live in, conveying a small picture of their pressing needs that require urgent solutions that cannot tolerate delay. Ms. Hayat Al-Dhibhani delivered the women’s speech, in which she once again announced the sale of her gold belt to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, with the proceeds to benefit the treatment of the wounded in Taiz. Representing social figures and dignitaries, Mr. Tawfiq Abdulmalik delivered a speech that boosted the morale of the wounded, through which he demanded the legitimate state take the necessary measures to resolve the issue of the wounded and appealed to men of charity and everyone who can lend a helping hand to support them. During the event, the poet Mr. Fouad Al-Hamiri recited a poem that won the admiration of the attendees, led by the wounded in attendance. It is noteworthy that the Raya Developmental Foundation for the Care of Families of Martyrs and Wounded had previously organized several events and protest vigils to demand the acceleration of treatment for the wounded. It has also implemented many projects in this regard, including the monthly sponsorship project for the families of martyrs and wounded, covering 533 families permanently, as well as aid for 211 families, in addition to following up on the files of dozens of cases that need to travel abroad and several other projects.
