Development Care distributes cooking utensils to the poorest groups in displaced persons camps


Taiz, Saturday, October 30, 2021 – The Development Foundation (DRF) distributed cooking supplies to the poorest families in displacement camps in the western countryside of Taiz Governorate (southwest Yemen). The project targeted 400 families in displacement camps in the districts of Maqbana and Jabal Habashi in Taiz Governorate, as part of its activities supporting displaced persons and funded by the Danish Refugee Council (DRC). Mr. Essam Al-Tamimi, the project manager, explained that the cooking kits, consisting of a gas cylinder, stove, gas regulator, and pipe, were distributed to 222 displaced families in Al-Hajab camp in Maqbana district and 178 displaced families in Al-Rajhi and Al-Rahba camps in the Al-Sharajah area of ​​Jabal Habashi district. It is worth noting that the distribution was preceded by training workshops for verification and awareness teams. These workshops explained the verification mechanism and methods used in the verification process, and provided training on awareness mechanisms and the content of the awareness messages to be delivered to beneficiaries in the displacement sites. Verification and awareness activities were also conducted for all targeted families in displacement camps in the two districts during the project phases. For the past six years, the Development Care Foundation has been implementing numerous development and relief projects in several Yemeni governorates.
